This is a clear summary of your project and includes:

• The purpose of your project

• The activities you will deliver

• The community need your project addresses

• Who will benefit

• Expected outcomes for Torres Strait and/or NPA communities

Simple projects may only require around 150 words, but for more complex projects, you can upload additional documents such as workplans, schedules, and/or risk plans.

List all costs associated with your project.

Strong budgets include evidence like:

• Supplier quotes

• Letters confirming partner contributions

• Evidence of co-funding or in-kind support

• Partnership agreements

For larger grants, you can upload a spreadsheet with a detailed budget.

We assess applications against three main criteria. In the online application form, respond to each criterion.

Criterion 1 – Alignment and community benefit (weighting: 40%)

Explain:

• How your activity supports health, wellbeing, sport, active recreation, or community connection

• Who will benefit from your activity

• Why your activity is needed

• How your activity reflects local priorities

• How the community has been involved in your activity

Criterion 2 – Ability to deliver (weighting: 30%)

Provide information regarding:

• Who will deliver the project

• What experience or support those delivering the project have

• If partners are involved in your project

• Whether your project can be delivered within the timeframe

• How risks will be managed

Criterion 3 – Value for money and impact (weighting: 30%)

Explain:

• What the funding will pay for

• Whether your costs are reasonable

• Whether quotes, in-kind, support, or other contributes are available

• What outcomes will be achieved

• What benefit will remain after the project finishes

We recommend including supporting documentation to strengthen your application. This might include:

• Quotes or estimates

• Project plan

• Evidence of community support

• Letters of support

• Evidence of auspicing arrangement

• Evidence of co-contributions or in-kind support

• Event or activity schedule

• Risk management plan, where relevant

• Evidence of insurance, where relevant

• Child safety or working with children arrangements, where relevant

• Previous experience or qualifications, where relevant
